Green Smoothie

Since going dairy free, I’ve needed to find something to replace my whey protein shakes in the morning.  I will admit, there isn’t much protein in this smoothie, however, it’s PACKED with vitamins, antioxidants and fiber.  I’ve done a couple variations that work well for me.

1 cup of water

1/2 cup coconut milk OR almond milk

1/2 cup frozen berries/fruit (I like strawberries and blueberries best)

1 cup packed fresh spinach

1 cup loose kale

1/2 avacado (this makes it really creamy)

1 scoop of good quality fiber

1/2 cup chopped ice

Blend at high speed in a powerful blender.

*Sometimes I don’t use kale but I use 1/2 cup of cilantro, which gives it a nice, light and refreshing taste.
